Hart Associates

Despite an important internal meeting leaving us waiting in the lobby for over twenty minutes, the tour of Hart Associates was a great experience. Brad Zabroski, Senior Art Director at Hart Associates, was our very generous tour guide. He led us through a labyrinth of cubicles, hard drives, and creative teams—all the while explaining the surroundings to our group.

After a tour of the impressive and friendly facilities we sat down in the cushy conference room where video of various examples of Hart's award winning work played on a large screen at the head of the table. It was here that Brad answered all of our questions in an informal q&a session. He had lots to say, but one thing that stuck out to me was his 4 key areas to consider in solving a design problem:
  • Brand
  • Target
  • Message
  • Reason to Believe

What did you think of the tour? If you missed it, what do you think about Hart Associates site? Their work?

Color palette gives it a professional look. Images inspire sufficient curiosity to click on them.

I found it odd that the bottom bit with "read on", an arrow, and "You'll get the idea" did not link to anything.

All the fonts are sans serif. Disappointing to me.

Clicking through on other links, the overall impression I get is conservative and professional. If I were a business looking for something "cutting edge" this site would turn me off.

I liked the tour, but I especially liked the Q&A time. Talking to Brad about the project process enlightened me regarding team work and design.

I learned a lot about the inner-workings of a marketing communications agency, and was happy for the sneak peak into such a career. It was great to see how laid back everyone was, including Brad, our gracious tour guide! My favorite part of the trip was also the Q&A portion. I hope we can have more experiences like this!

I enjoyed the tour of Hart Associates very much. Brad took his time with us and explained alot of the things about Hart that gave me a great insight into my future career. The time he took to answer our questions was another nice touch and showed there commitment to future designers.
The biulding was a lot bigger then it looked from the outside and the top level equipment within it was very impressive. Their sound room and video editing equipment was one of the high points to me. I also liked the fact that they allowed their designers their own space but encouraged team work and collaboration through their main frame. This tour was very enlightening.
